Rihanna talks her River Island Collection.
Rihanna was spotted leaving her hotel in London, England wearing a grey top and skirt she designed from her Rihanna For River Island line, a Irongate stadium jacket by Trapstar, Pro Model sneakers by Adidas, Silver Spoon Attire vintage cameo beanie and a #Joyrich faux python backpack. Her sunglasses will be updated once we find out who the designer is.
Rihanna debuted 120 pieces of her first collection for British high street retailer River Island with the help of designer Adam Selman.
This was probably one of the most talked about and most anticipated collection of all the shows at London fashion week.
The collection was very much inspired by the singers mood and own style of clothing with a tomboy/grunge meets sexy. The collection consisted of varsity jackets, crop tops, stripes, florals and quite revealing side cut maxi skirts and dresses which flowed gracefully on the models. We can also see a highlight by Selman’s designs for Rihanna’s past looks. The variety of the this collection such as the tone and colour makes it easy to wear casually or to be worn on occasions. Her collection also featured accessories such as leather baseball caps and backpacks featuring her infamous Isis tattoo in gold. Body chains and gold hoops very similar to what the singer herself has been wearing. The choice of footwear such as the lace up ankle boots and strap sandals has defiantly caught the attention of the public. The fans will surely benefit from this collection especially those that look up to Rihanna’s sense of style and there is something for everyone whether you decide to buy one or more pieces to add to your wardrobe.
Just as we’re excited about this collection Rihanna has confirmed she will be designing another collection for the high street brand for next season (yay).

After debuting her clothing line at London Fashion Week, Rihanna went out and partied with model Cara Delevinge along side her longtime best friend Melissa Forde at The Box in London wearing one of her dresses she designed for Rihanna for River Island that is set to launch next month. Rihanna completed her look with a pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals, Kentshire diamond necklace including a black jacket by Trapstar.

ELLE reviews the Rihanna for River Island show.
The excitement surrounding Rihanna’s collection for River Island has been building for so long now that there was a real possibility that the reality wouldn’t live up to the hype. We should have known she wouldn’t disappoint.
Her London Fashion Week debut was more of a party than a show - the bass heavy soundtrack had Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn dancing front row throughout. And there was no catwalk - instead, stacked boxes that the models strode up and through.
As for the clothes? Pure Rihanna, from the striped cropped bra top and hot pants to the sporty jumpsuit, the super sexy sheer maxi dress to the denim dungaree bra top and two tone, high waisted jeans.
Before the show she talked to ELLE editor Lorraine Candy through the collection. As beautiful as you thought she was, polite and only an hour late, she was wearing the skin tight black dress from her collection and black heels. So what did we discover?
She told us that her favourite pieces were the black cotton and silk skirt with jumper ties as she wanted ‘to design for all body shapes and when women have a fat day and want to hide bits of their bodies’. The full-length jumpsuit has also made it into her wardrobe as she ‘wears it to dinner when she’s not feeling comfortable for skin tight’.
The sweatshirt pieces were designed with travel in mind and for ‘fat days’. And she designed the black and white shorts to cover the top of her legs because ‘she has cellulite too like everyone else’.
Known for her incredibly sexy style, she wanted to make sure she showed as much skin as possible with the dresses but wanted ‘sexy not vulgar or cheap’. And she also revealed that she had wanted to create a ‘sophisticated silhouette, but pieces that were comfortable and easy to wear’.
And those baseball caps? One of them is emblazoned with the eagle symbol which she has tattooed on her stomach.
Lorraine says, ‘She was charming and very quietly spoken. And our April cover is one of my favourite ever British ELLE covers. She is incredibly pretty and absolutely adorable in the flesh. She has a genuine love of fashion and told us she will continue to design clothes, including another collection for River Island this year.’

Rihanna For River Island Collection Preview Exclusive
RIHANNA has revealed an exclusive preview of her long-awaited range for River Island. Watch the Vogue cover girl as she takes viewers for a tour around her design studio with her co-designer Adam Selman - from model fittings to a never-seen-before look at the collection sketches.
“I have wanted to design my own fashion label for a very long time,” Rihanna explains. “This has been something I wanted to do ever since I started loving fashion. Every time I saw something on a rack there was something I wanted to do to change it and so I thought that the only way I could do that is by designing the perfect thing for me.”
Aimed at “sassy young personalities”, the diverse collection will be “casual, chic and flirty” and for “all different body types”. Items shown in the film include swimwear, striped tops with plunging backs, jumpsuits and a floor-length black dress with sheer panelling.
“I wanted all types of girls to be able to wear this and feel comfortable but edgy,” she said. “I wanted there to be character within the clothes, but without it trying too hard. It’s just simple.”
It was Britain’s reputation as a leader in street style that attracted the star to work with River Island on her debut fashion line. The collection will be unveiled in full at a catwalk show during London Fashion Week.
“The kids say what’s cool and the designers go and design it,” she said. “”Why not go to the source when you want to be ahead of the trend? I wanted to create something that’s inspirational, new and fresh - that’s why I wanted to work with River Island.”

Rihanna to unveil River Island collection at London fashion week
According to British Vogue Rihanna will reveal her latest River Island collection at one of the prestigious fashion events in February at …London fashion week!
RIHANNA will unveil her River Island collection with a catwalk show during London Fashion Week. The invite-only event will be held on Saturday February 16.
“Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me,” said Rihanna. ” I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege. I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!”
The much-anticipated collaboration of clothing and accessories will launch internationally in River Island stores and online on Tuesday March 5, and will be stocked at Opening Ceremony in the US and Japan.

Rihanna was spotted shopping her native hometown of Bridgetown, Barbados with her aunt, Marcel carrying a sold out blue Chanel canvas Cabas Ete tote handbag.
She is also wearing blue skinny jeans by designer Vivienne Westwood for Lee denim along with pinkChristian Louboutin heels with a Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton sleek neck piece from his Fall 2011 collection.
Rihanna confirmed on our Instagram post that she is wearing a Rihanna for River Island T-shirt.
Rihanna was spotted out and about in Los Angeles wearing a Rihanna For River Island navy blue jumpsuit.
All collaborations for Rihanna for River Island is not available for purchase at this time, while everything is set for release in the Spring of 2013.
